On June 13th, 2011 Seattle welcomed restaurateur Michael Mina, Wine Director Rajat Parr and the opening of their newest restaurant RN74 which was named after Route National 74 – the major thoroughfare passing through the heart of France’s Burgundy region. The cuisine of RN74 is a delightful inspiration of the Burgundy region and a modern interpretation of refined American cooking. Food is prepared using seasonal, fresh ingredients and bold flavors. RN74 Boasts a wine cellar with more than 10,000 bottles – bottles from Burgundy as well as local boutique wines from Woodinville, Walla Walla, Horse Heaven Hills and a large selection of varietals from other world regions.

Last Bottle Board:
While sitting in a train station for hours in France, Rajat Parr watched the departure and arrival boards constantly flip which brought him to an idea….’how can this same concept could be incorporated onto a restaurant wine board’. This inspired the ‘Last Bottle Board’ which is connected to the POS system and highlights special offerings for select bottles of wine with only 1 bottle remaining. Once a bottle has been purchased, the board flips like old train station departure/arrival boards throughout Europe featuring a replacement for the purchased bottle. The ‘Market Board’ uses the same concept to showcase more than 80 different wines from around the world selected for their cuisine compatibility.
Décor:
Award-winning Manhattan design firm AvroKO created a space where elements of glass and steel are tempered with warm, rich leathers and reclaimed wood. RN74 embodies a contemporary interpretation of the classic European train stations combined with a rustic charm along with the warm earthiness of Old World winemaking.
